Problems with move time on games

Hi, I am playing with "words with friends" and "zynga poker"

I create a game and then wait for someone to play a move. once that happens – i get a message on my phone saying "blahblah moved 10 hours ago".
There is nothing wrong with the gameplay or anything, it's just the reported time of move is wrong. After each of my moves it asks me if i want to remind them of the game because "its been 10 hours" haha

what could be causing this?

Started happening as soon as I installed them - although i did update a few programs and android(to 4.0.2).

Just uninstalled words with friends and reinstalled. Created a game on phone1.. Made the word "SAT". phone2(my nexus) syncs and says "SAT" played 10 hours ago
