Google Releases New Jelly Bean Binaries for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus

Who knew that normal, everyday Android users would care about things like binaries? Well, we do when it has to do with our beloved Galaxy Nexus running on Verizon’s network. As you may remember, the VZW G-Nex once had its “officially supported in AOSP” tag removed over binaries, so when they first returned shortly after Google I/O, we all celebrated a bit.
As of last night, new binaries were added to support the latest Android 4.1.1 build, JRO03H. Sound familiar? That’s the same build that the XOOM WiFi was updated to last week. Now, this doesn’t necessarily mean that we are moments away from an OTA update, but it’s a good sign that things are still moving in the right direction. After all, Verizon still has to approve the Jelly Bean update, something that could take a while if we base the situation off of the last update.
On a related note, the 4.1.1 binaries for almost all other Nexus devices were posted last night as well, including the Nexus S 4G on Sprint.
